Privacy Policy

1. The Service

This online community television service (“Service”) is provided to you by Videojuicer Limited (“Videojuicer”, “we” or “us”) on behalf of the Community Environment Owner (“Community Environment Owner” or “CEO”) subject to the terms and conditions below (“Agreement”). The “Service” includes this website (“Site”) and all associated services and software and the audiovisual content made available through the Site, now or in the future (“Content”).The Service enables the creation of a community that produces, views, shares and remixes Content on multiple media through use of the Service’s “Playout” function.As part of this community, users (“you”) may watch, and depending on the Site, create Content, upload it to your own channel on the Site, share it, and remix it with other Content.The Service is specifically designed to keep track of who posts a piece of Content and where it’s used so that we can give credit for it when it’s used by others.To start using the Service and building your own TV channel you must agree to this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service by selecting the tick box on the registration form.

2. Collection and use of Your information

You may only use the Service if you are 13 years or older. To use the Service you will need to create a Videojuicer account (“Account”). When you open an Account, you will be required to supply information such as your name, e-mail address, the nickname you want be known by in the community, your date of birth, gender and country of residence. You will also have the option to supply other information such as your likes / dislikes, biog, picture and instant messenging details. You can access and update this information at any time through the “My Account” pages. As you continue to use the Site, we will also collect further information about you, such as your viewing history and preferences. All of this information is known as your “Personal Information”.

We will USE the Personal Information that we collect to;

  • verify your identity,
  • contact you personally if necessary for the provision of the services available on the Site,
  • keep track of who posts a piece of Content and where it’s used,
  • send you our email newsletter if you choose to receive it in the registration form.

We will SHARE the Personal Information that we collect with third parties;

  • if obliged to do so to comply with the law and for purposes of law enforcement,
  • if necessary to allow advertising audits to validate size and composition of the viewing audience. This will not result in any contact with you and only checks and counts which IP addresses watched which adverts.

These third parties may store or retain a record of the Personal Information that we share with them, however they may only use that Personal Information for the purposes outlined above and no other purpose.

We will also gather aggregated data to help us improve the quality of the Service (for example, to gauge the load on the Service and plan for any increases in hardware or bandwidth requirements). Such data will be anonymous and will not contain any personally identifying information.

3. User Disclosed Personal Information

The Service gives you the ability to make Content public by sharing it. Any personal information included within your Content or that you voluntarily disclose online (in your profile, in comments, etc.) becomes publicly available and can be collected and used by others. We disclaim any responsibility or liability for the consequences of such disclosure and any such personal information is not considered as subject to this Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies and Spiders

When you use the Site, a small piece of data called a cookie is sent to your computer and stored on your hard drive. Cookies contain only small pieces of information. They do not contain any executable information that could threaten your computer or compromise your privacy or security. The Service uses cookies to increase the ease with which you can navigate the Service. Your browser must have cookies enabled for you to be able to use the Service. You agree that Videojuicer may grant the operators of public search engines permission to use spiders to copy materials from the site for the sole purpose of creating publicly available searchable indices of the Content, but not caches or archives of such materials.

5. Security

The Service makes use of industry-standard security measures. While it can never be said that any website or application has perfect, impenetrable security, we will always take reasonable measures to keep your Personal Information safe from loss, misuse, alteration and theft.

6. General conditions

6.1 Modification

Occasionally we may need to amend or update this Privacy Policy. If we make any major changes to it, we will notify you by displaying a notice on the Homepage.

6.2 Storing Your Personal Information

Your country’s privacy laws may require your consent before your Personal Information can be exported to, stored and processed in countries with weaker privacy laws. By accepting this Privacy Policy you give this consent. No matter where your Personal Information is processed, this Privacy Policy will remain in effect.

6.3 Change of Service Provider

In the event that Videojuicer or the Service is acquired by another company, it is likely that your Personal Information will be subject to a new Privacy Policy. We will notify you before your Personal Information is transferred, either at your primary email address or by displaying a prominent notice on the Homepage.

6.4 Acceptance

Your use of the Service constitutes consent to being bound by this Privacy Policy and your continued use of the Service will constitute your agreement to any modified Privacy Policy.
